“You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, that my heart may sing your praises and not be silent. Lord my God, I will praise you forever. ” (Psalm 30:11-12)
Please pray for our dear friend Damaris Kioko as she prepares to get married later this month. In a recent mail to Open Doors, she announced: “I am getting married again. I will wed my fiancé, Steve on Saturday July 29th in Mombasa, Kenya.”
It has been five years since her first husband, Jackson Kioko, was brutally murdered for his evangelistic efforts. “It has been a hard time for me since then but God strengthened me and carried me in His hands. He gave me friends who prayed and encouraged me from all over the world. I have been encouraged and strengthened and my faith is now stronger and greater than it was.”
Damaris has also released her second album, Kiwango Kingine (New level). “The tragedy of losing Jackson birthed in me the ministry of encouragement. I like encouraging people going through tough and difficulty situations in life through the music because I have undergone difficult situations i.e. the loses of my father and later my 1st husband. I like giving people hope for life and helping them trust in God for I have seen Him heal and restore lives.”
- Please pray for Steve and I as we finalize our wedding arragments.
- Pray also for us to have a happy, prosperous and long lasting marriage – I pray that we grow old together.
- Pray for us to be blessed with children who will receive Christ as their Savior at an early age, and go on to live for Him all their lives.
