“Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” (Luke 23:34)

The family of abducted pastor Raymond Koh Keng Joo (62) has raised the reward offered for information of his whereabouts to MYR 100,000 (USD 22,500) in a desperate plea to secure his safe release, as reported by a local news portal, The Star. The family increased the reward after initially offering MYR 10,000 (USD 2,250) for information of the pastor, who was abducted by masked men on Feb 13 in broad daylight in under 60 seconds.

The police have formed a task force to investigate the case, which is believed to have religious connections. Despite having taken statements from eight witnesses, Malaysia Kini reported, the task force found no new leads so far.

As Christians in the country and around the world raise concerns over the pastor’s disappearance, the Christian Federation of Malaysia (CFM) points out in a statement that religious leaders must be free from threats of violence and intimidation.

Let us continue to pray for the situation in the words of Susanna Koh, wife of Pastor Raymond Koh:

“Dear friends and prayer warriors… My children and I are very anxious for Raymond. … But I am very thankful and overwhelmed by the love and generosity of God’s people. So many messages of support and encouragement have come in. God is good. He is faithful.”

“Please continue to pray for his early release in a safe condition. Pray also pray for my and my children’s safety. Let us persevere in prayer for the prayers of the righteous avails much. Let us continue to love God and do good to our neighbours. Raymond would be very happy today if he knows not only Malaysia is praying for him but also the whole world. … Thanks for prayers and support again. God bless you.”
