What is IDOP?
IDOP stands for International Day of Prayer, which is an annual prayer day for the persecuted church. Christians around the world set aside a day in November to unite in prayer for our brothers and sisters who are persecuted for their faith. This year the prayer day is Nov 11st.
Can I run IDOP on a different day?
Of course! Choose another day that works for your church, school or small group and remember the persecuted church in prayer.
This year’s IDOP we prayer for…
Open Door invites you to remember and pray for our brothers and sisters who are imprisoned or abducted for their faith in Jesus.
How do I run IDOP?
IDOP is simple – gather with your church, school or small group and spend time in prayer for the persecuted church! You can do this for as little or as long as you want. If you have the time, share the power point and the video available in the IDOP Resources provided to you when you sign up.
Why are we praying ‘with’ the persecuted church?
We think the words of this pastor answer this question best:
“Please do not pray for us. Please pray with us. If you pray for us, you will pray for the wrong things. You will pray that the church will be safe. You will pray for persecution to cease. We are not praying for these things. We ask that we will be bold and clear in sharing our faith. And we pray that when the inevitable persecution comes… that we will not run away, that we will be faithful in that persecution even if it costs us our lives. Will you tell your friends to pray these prayers with us?” – Egyptian Pastor
Can I continue to receive prayer requests from the persecuted church?
Yes! We have Monthly Prayer Guides and our Magazine. We also send a weekly Prayer News email with the latest news and prayer requests from the field. Please visit our Website.
