JOIN THE RESPONSE FOR

PERSECUTED BELIEVERS IN CRISIS

The current crisis in Afghanistan means believers are more at risk than ever.

The Taliban’s takeover has brought fear to everyone in the country, and believers face an additional layer of persecution in what was already one of the most dangerous places to follow Jesus.

Many have been, and will continue to be, forced to flee.

You can make a difference for believers in the region and beyond by choosing to pray and give.

1. PRAY

There is nothing more powerful than when Christians unite in prayer.

As part of the global body of Christ, when one part suffers, we all suffer (1 Corinthians 12:26). And the body of Christ in Afghanistan is suffering.

Brother Sam*, Open Doors Field Director for Asia, is asking for urgent prayer.

“These are uncertain times for Christians in Afghanistan. We don’t know what the next months will bring, what kind of implementation of Sharia Law we will see, but we continue to ask you to intercede for our brothers and sisters. They are facing insurmountable adversity. We must pray without ceasing.”

Please pray with all people suffering because of the crisis in Afghanistan.

2. GIVE

Please consider giving to provide URGENT AID to strengthen the church in the region and LONG-TERM SUPPORT to persecuted church worldwide.

As desperate refugees scatter throughout the region and beyond, our partners on the frontlines will bring hope and witness to the love of God by giving unconditional support, including emergency relief. Your support will be used where the need is the greatest. This includes supporting those who have lost everything with things like food, shelter, clothing, medical treatment, and trauma counselling.

$100, $1,000 or $10,000 will make a significant difference in the lives of persecuted believers.

The scale of the ongoing crisis is impossible to predict, and we are committed to serving persecuted believers in the region and beyond. We anticipate the needs will be significant, however we cannot fully know the scope of response that will be required. In the event more funds are raised than can be spent in the region, funds may be diverted to other situations of extreme need.

Thank you for supporting believers affected by the crisis in Afghanistan.
